How to Build Highly Scalable Cloud Software

Submitted by noble on Mon, 08/15/2022 - 14:51

In this short TED-style talk, Kane Bruce will yield some perspectives and insight on what it takes to approach the daunting task of handling terabytes of data and millions of requests per day.

Kane is a CERN openlab summer student who worked on simplifying and containerizing the EOS continuous integration pipeline to support x86 and ARM. He is also the chief technology officer for a retail AI edge analytics startup called Chirp, where he architected and directed the implementation of a high-volume edge/cloud/web product across multiple teams as the cloud owner. Beyond that, he also works on production Azure clusters as a software engineer for Microsoft, improving deployment cadence and monitoring/telemetry for various cloud services.
