Alexia is Junior Communications Officer of CERN openlab. She graduated as a veterinary surgeon from the University of Surrey in 2020, before going on to study for a master’s in Science Communication at Imperial College London, graduating in 2022.
During her studies, Alexia gained experience through internships with the publication Vet Record. After graduating from vet school, Alexia worked as editor of Vet Report, a news site for the veterinary profession, with the veterinary PR and marketing firm Companion Consultancy. During university, Alexia was co-editor of Surrey vet school’s first newsletter, and while studying science communication she was co-editor of Imperial College’s science magazine, I,Science.
Alexia joined CERN back in August 2021, where she worked as an intern on the Sparks! Forum and also worked with Arts at CERN before starting work in openlab. Alexia also currently writes a monthly column for the veterinary magazine The Veterinary Edge.
