CERN openlab also hosts yearly projects at the contributor level, which are listed in this section and not in a dedicated competence centre
Experiencing the True Value of Hybrid Cloud with Rackspace
The focus of the joint project between CERN openlab and Rackspace is to create a reference architecture and an operational model for Federated Cloud services between Rackspace Private Cloud, Rackspace Public Cloud and CERN's OpenStack powered Clouds. Rackspace has already collaborated closely with CERN in the past to deliver a solution that would allow CERN to burst workloads into its public cloud. Through the CERN openlab collaborative agreement, the Rackspace Private Cloud platform will now be deployed onto servers that CERN utilises for production physics experiments. Rackspace and CERN openlab will test and ensure the seamless federation between private and public cloud platforms to accommodate excess workloads, and to experience the true value of the hybrid cloud.
