Technical student: CERN openlab web developer
Term: Six months, starting on 1 September or 1 October
Application deadline: Wednesday 12th April 2017 (23:59 CET)
The student will work on the development of the new CERN openlab website, using Drupal 8. The student will cooperate closely with the CERN openlab communications officer and other members of the CERN openlab management team to ensure the new site meets the needs of the collaboration, facilitating improved communication and serving as a central hub for CERN openlab’s various activities. The new website will be created using front-end design elements provided by the CERN Design and Visual Identity service.
The new CERN openlab website will have an updated design and will add dynamic-layout features to improve the user experience for those viewing on a range of devices. More importantly, the new site will more accurately reflect our collaboration’s evolving structure and will include new content. In addition, the site will also enable better use to be made of audio-visual content, fully incorporate our popular social media channels, and incorporate new press materials. The primary audience for the site is those with no prior knowledge of our work; this will be reflected through a simplification of the site’s structure.
