Ignacio graduated as a Telecommunications Engineer in the University of Cantabria in 2006, after having spent a year in the University of Ghent, Belgium developing his End of Degree project.
After graduating he joined the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC), and started working in the Advanced Computing and e-Science group of the Institute of Physics of Cantabria. Here, Ignacio first worked in the Int.Eu.Grid project, which was aimed to bring interactive applications to the grid environment. After this Ignacio joined the DORII project (2008-2010), focusing on integrating scientific instrumentation and data repositories in the grid framework.
In 2011 Ignacio arrived at CERN thanks to the Spanish Ministry of Research Specialization in International Organizations program. At CERN he joined the IT-DB group where he co-developed the Databases on Demand service.
Ignacio has a fellowship with the CERN openlab since August 2012.
